Stranded – Son of a Mason

I received a call today from a Brandon Foster from Wisconsin.  He states that he had an electrical fire in the steering column of his pickup truck, while in Panama City, and had enough money to get the wiring taken care of but lacks funds for gasoline to make it back to Wisconsin.  If you’re able to aid this fellow, please call him at 715-450-7533

Thanks, Kevin Brackins

Discourse – Idel Talk Piques and Quarrels

A discourse from RW:. Jore Aladro, Senior Grand Warden of Florida Masons

Wednesday, January 26th 2011

Dear Brothers:
My Brothers once again, we come to a subject that may be controversial to some degree. I hope you take this in the
spirit that is being discussed which is to be as a means of information and self-evaluation.
So often we hear of problems in Lodges, that have caused a rift among the Brothers, to the point where the Lodge
suffers, attendance is down, no one wants to do anything, Degrees are very poor, maintenance of the building is
not being performed, fund raisers are non-existent, things are going down the tubes. Both sides are right or at
least according to them, and they cannot see the damage they are causing the Lodge, that sort of “can’t see the
forest for the trees type syndrome.”

Masonic Cornerstone Laying by Grand Master

Friday March 5th, the Grand Master of Florida Masons, Most Worshipful Dale L. Goerhig will lay the cornerstone at the new Bay County Library at 10 a.m. in the morning.

Please be present and support Bay County Masons as they welcome the Grand Master

Here’s the body of an email I received from the DDGM Wayne Wert:

Dear Brother,

The Bay County Public Library Cornerstone Ceremony will be held this Friday, March 5, 2010, at the new Bay County Public Library. It is located at 898 W 11th Street. Anyone intending/hoping to participate in the ceremony should be there at 9:00 AM. The ceremony will commence at 10:00 AM. The Cornerstone is beautiful!!!!    The weather should be great! Ms Jannette Lovett (?), Bay County Publicist, will be putting together a press release. Hopefully, some of the media will be present.

All Masons are requested to wear a dark suit/sport jacket, if possible. Do not let the requested attire keep you from attending!!! If you come from work and can’t dress as requested, come anyway!!! It would be great if we could have a huge audience as well as all the participants.

Masons have 4 suggested options:
  1. Wear your Masonic apron (PDDGM, PM, personal apron).
  2. Wear your Scottish Rite garrison cap.
  3. Wear your Shrine Fez.
  4. Wear your York Rite regalia.

(Just don’t wear an apron with any of the appendant order’s dress, e.g., fez and apron.)

And….don’t forget your family – bring them, too, along with all the in-laws and outlaws, to witness this historic event.

Please pass this information along to all Masons.

Take care and be safe.
